Jambiflash.com – Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini agrees with the proposal that victims of online gambling receive assistance through the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).
Online gambling victims who fall into poverty must be helped.
“Yeah, it’s okay. Someone sent me a letter. He said he’s a former victim of serious human rights abuses. As long as he’s poor, he’s entitled, if he’s poor because of online gambling, he’s entitled. As long as it’s not prohibited by the state, I’m ready. Just poor,” said Risma on Friday (6/14/2024).
However, she emphasized that the victims of online gambling have already been included in the DTKS. She then explained that there are hundreds of victims of human trafficking who are assisted by the Ministry of Social Affairs because they have been included in the DTKS.
“There must be data. If there’s no data, it can’t be done, like with human trafficking victims, we have that. So yesterday, there were 290 immigrant workers released from Malaysian detention. We help them, we handle it,” she said.
Previously, Minister Coordinator for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy revealed that many families have become impoverished due to the impact of online gambling.
As a result of these impacts, his office has provided advocacy for victims of online gambling. He even included them in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) to receive social assistance (bansos).
“Yeah, we have advocated for many of these victims of online gambling, for example, then we include them in the DTKS as recipients of bansos,” said Muhadjir on Thursday (6/13/2024).
Muhadjir also requested assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs to help online gambling victims who experience psychosocial disturbances.
“Then those who experience psychosocial disturbances, we ask the Ministry of Social Affairs to come down and provide guidance and counseling,” he said. (uda)
