Jambiflash.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will soon process the presidential decree (Keppres) dismissing Hasyim Asy’ari as Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU).
Previously, Hasyim Asy’ari was dismissed by the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) for proven misconduct.
“In process, administrative process. It’s routine,” said Jokowi at Sinjai Regional Hospital, South Sulawesi, Thursday (4/7/2024).
Jokowi respects the DKPP’s decision to dismiss Hasyim Asy’ari as Chairman of the KPU. He also assured that the 2024 simultaneous regional elections will proceed smoothly.
“The government will also ensure that the regional elections run smoothly, honestly, and fairly,” said Jokowi.
Previously, the DKPP granted all the complainant’s requests. The DKPP also requested President Jokowi to implement the decision no later than seven days after it was announced.
The DKPP also instructed the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) to oversee the implementation of the decision. (uda)
