A fatal accident involving a family of three was very tragic. The family was hit by a truck on Wednesday (24/7/2024).
In this incident, a mother and her 3-year-old child were killed after being struck by a truck on the Pantura route in Pasuruan Regency. The father, who was driving the vehicle, survived but sustained serious injuries.
The moments leading up to the fatal accident that killed the mother and child were captured on CCTV. The tragic event occurred on Jalan Raya Surabaya-Malang, Kepulungan Village, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency.
From the CCTV footage, it is seen that Imam, a resident of Sukorejo Village, Ngasem District, Kediri Regency, was riding a Honda Vario motorcycle with his wife and 3-year-old daughter. They were traveling from Surabaya to Malang.
Upon reaching the location of the incident, Imam slowed down his scooter due to a car in front of him. From behind, a truck driven by Sunarto, a resident of Panggreh Village, Jabon District, Sidoarjo Regency, was approaching.
The truck then hit the victims’ motorcycle, causing all three to be thrown off. Siti and her 3-year-old daughter were run over by the truck and killed. The father, Imam, sustained injuries.
Iptu A Kunaefi, head of the Pasuruan Police Traffic Unit, stated that based on the investigation of the accident scene, the motorcycle rider allegedly lost control of his motorcycle while slowing down.
“When it swayed, the victim’s motorcycle was hit by the truck coming from behind,” he said.
The fatal accident case is now being handled by the Pasuruan Police Traffic Unit. Officers have also evacuated the bodies of the mother and child to Bhayangkara Pudik Brimob Hospital, Watukosek, Gempol. The father is being treated at a private hospital. (uda)
