OKU TIMUR, Jambiflash.com – The discovery of a high school student’s body in a rubber plantation has shocked residents of Tebing Sari Mulya Village, Belitang Madang Raya District, East OKU Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), on Thursday (20/6/2024). The victim is believed to have been murdered.
Following investigations by Madang Suku 1 Police, the victim was identified as Umi Astuti (16), a student of Muhammadiyah Harjo Winangun High School from Pujo Rahayu Village, Belitang I District, East OKU.
“According to the victim’s father, his daughter left home riding a white Honda Scoppy motorcycle and did not say goodbye since Wednesday. As she did not return until Thursday, the family reported her disappearance to the village authorities,” said Madang Suku I Police Chief AKP Dwi Hendro on Saturday (22/6/2024).
According to the East OKU Regional Police Forensic Investigation team (Inafis), several injuries were found on the victim’s body, including bruising on the chest, abrasions on the neck, and head injuries from a blunt object.
Information obtained indicates that the perpetrator of the murder has been apprehended. Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been returned to her parents for burial. (nas)
